I have to say this is probably one of the greatest and most useful software applications I have purchased this year! I find the software easy to use and I wish I would have found this years ago! I now have my entire cd album cataloged and I never thought of using something like this for keeping track of my software and installation serial numbers, perfect! Thanks so much!

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you how pleased I am with AVCataloger. I am a software engineer myself (although I lean towards the system admin side). I have had a SQL database for my CDs and DVDs for a long time. I even wrote a simple VB front-end for my DVD database. I had a huge list of enhancements but never seemed to find the time/motivation to write them (that tends to happen when you spend all day working on computers :-) ).
Then I stumbled across AVCataloger and decided to download the demo. I was quite impressed. After downloading and viewing the various tutorials I decided to buy it. I now have all my DVDs (200+) and CDs entered in. I've even done a few of my software books (cool interface to Amazon!).
I must say that you have managed to pack in a *huge* number of features for the price of the software. I really like how easy you make it to add custom fields. Although I could deal with just about any steps required, the method you have come up with should be relatively easy for the "average" PC user :-)
I also like the fact that you have not password-protected the database. Although the reports you provided are good I wanted to write a few custom ones with Crystal Reports. I decided to just try attaching directly to the database and it worked like a charm.
Overall it is a very impressive package. Keep up the good work!

I would like to comment on the AVCataloger program. The program is excellent and very easy to use. I have tons of books and CD's and it is wonderful to have them all cataloged with this program. It is one of the best programs ever. Just downloaded the update 3.2.2 and the new region feature is the best. As I have lots of German Books that I can now catalog a lot easier then bevor. Keep up the great improvements. I recommend this program to all my friends

I have been searching for a solution to manage my music collection and films for a while.
this tool is incredible and very easy to use, the reporting side is very powerful and alouds you to manage your inventory, and most important the information to the people you have lended your precious material.
the only downside is the sales policy that forces you to pay a lot for the upgrades to the newest versions, even dough you participate actively in betas or other activities.
i highly recommend the software with all the cool functionalities if your are willing to pay for it every 2 years.

I had an installation problem and working with you was a pleasure. Microsoft could take lessons. The problem had to do with a couple of error messages that were because of spy ware and antivirus programs already running. After a few back and forth messages, all was resolved and the problem fixed.
Needless to say, I am a happy camper. From my days in the Navy I remember a code word when someone did a bang up job -- Bravo Zulu. So, Neil, Bravo Zulu to you and your team. You have a hell of a product.

Excellent product. The most tedious part of doing an inventory is data entry and you've simplified it about as much as possible.
One tip I have for even quicker data entry is to use the speech recognition software included with MS Office or another program like Dragon Naturally Speaking. I am able to enter ISBN numbers accurately to the Online Book Query interface and add books quickly to my inventory. I'm not efficient with a number pad and with the microphone I have my hands free to open the book and just read the ISBN number.
